Brides Diary - A Bride's best friend...

A few weeks ago I felt the stress and panic of wedding planning fever starting to take me over... So I joined an online forum where brides from across SA discuss their various wedding related dilemmas as well as any other NWR (non-wedding related) issues. I have found their insight and support an enormous help and would encourage any future brides to venture over to The Brides Diary and have a natter!

I would love to say thank you to all the lovely ladies who have given advice, inspiration and (virtual) tissues over the last few weeks! I am certain we will be chatting through out the whole wedding day run-up. Further on Photographers

We met Andrea (the photographer) over coffee on Saturday past and Andrea, I apologise again for being late :-(. I knew I would like her and she answered all our questions and preempted a few others. So, she is booked for the 23rd of August, and I believe wholeheartedly that we will have fabulous pictures of our wedding day! Photographers

There are a plethora of wedding photographers out there who are willing to give up their Saturday nights for a few thousand rand and promise you FANTASTIC photos…. And I guess they all have enough work as each bridal couple’s idea of fantastic photos differ.

Engagement Picnic

On Saturday, the 2nd of February, exactly 2 months after we got engaged, we had our engagement picnic. Picnic, you ask? As we wanted to convey the casual theme of our wedding to our guests we thought we would start with the engagement party and have a proper picnic!

Venues

We have finally decided on our venue… the first one we looked at and the one I’ve been in love with from the start (got my way in the end…).

I am not a frilletjies en valletjies type of person. I like clean lines and simplicity above all. Most of the venues we looked at cater for brides who like lace and organza, ivy and roses… That is just not me. GV liked Zebra Country Lodge, North of PTA. The main reason being that all his mates can spend the night and don’t have to drive home. I am all for having a party until the early morning but I would prefer to have breakfast the next morning with the family and close friends, not EVERYBODY.

So, our chosen venue???
