Cursed wedding dress?

I found this little poem on the web during one of my many searches! I thought it quite funny and wanted to share! What are your thoughts on this? Do you have any superstitions regarding your wedding? Please share!!!

Married in white, you have chosen all right.
Married in green, ashamed to be seen.
Married in red, you will wish yourself dead.
Married in blue, you will always be true.
Married in yellow, ashamed of your fellow.
Married in black, you will wish yourself back.
Married in pink, your spirits will sink.

  8. I bought this exact dress (had them leave the roses off though), it's gorgeous and my hair and skin tone is exactly like the models. My wedding is on October 10th and is completely non traditional. I think whatever makes the bride confident will suit her best, it's all about how you FEEL in your dress and I feel AMAZING in mine!

  14. well i say bull.
    hooray for colored dresses!

a bride should wear what she likes, whatever color it is. i think the ONE thing there should be more of are colorful wedding dresses. not ivory or some play on white. (white isn't a color. it's the absence of color.)

i'll always pass on queen victoria's fake white-wedding-dress tradition. what that dress said was that she was rich enough to drag yards of expensive white silk on the ground behind her for one day only. it was a garish display of wealth and wastefulness. it had absolutely nothing to do with purity, virginity, or chastity, and it was even considered a boring choice of color by the fashionistas of her time.

and still that white wedding dress crap is being shoved down brides' throats every waking moment, by way of observing a tradition that's only existed since 1840, and was only really popularized in the united states after the turn of the 20th century, so this "tradition" is hardly steeped in principal or history.

that's why my wedding dress is a dark, vibrant RED:-) and i should add, i'd only wish myself dead if i walked down the aisle in something everyone else was wearing.

DISCLAIMER: I'm not trying to insult anyone that's wearing white on their wedding day. White dresses can be very beautiful, and some brides pull them off quite well. I'm just saying there's a lot more color out there, and it shouldn't be so controversial to wear it on YOUR wedding day.

  16. THAT IS SOO NOT TRUE AND SORTA DUMB! in some countries all brides wear red dresses, and personally i think white dresses are boring. I think a coloured wedding dress is beautiful, unique and less mainstream. just wear what you want/like

  19. My grandmother got married in red. I think my grandparents had a pretty good marriage from what I know of it. But she actually did die (when my dad was 12, in a car accident), which is why I don't know firsthand!
